“Come along, no time to waste.” John is halfway down the stairs, trailing behind Sherlock, when Sherlock turns and hands him a riding crop. “You’ll need this. A man’s life depends on it.”

“Right. Why?” John asks.

“It’s obvious, isn’t it?”

“Not really, no.”

“Have you learned nothing?”

“Sherlock, do you remember me saying that whenever you’re talking I hear ‘hit me’, but that it’s usually subtext?”

“I remember. How is that relevant to this case?”

“It’s obvious, isn’t it?” John asks with a smirk, swishing the crop through the air. “I think it’s about time that subtext becomes text.”

As he turns his head, he discovers Sherlock, seated on the edge of the bed. The bed he is currently tied to, his brain supplies.

“Sherlock, what the bloody hell are you doing?”

“An experiment. I have a theory,” he says calmly.

“What theory?” John asks, suddenly aware that his hips are grinding against the mattress.

“That you’d enjoy this.”

“Watson, is this really necessary?” Sherlock asked, voice strained from his uncomfortable position.

“I thought you were dead,” John exclaimed, bringing his hand down once again on the center of Sherlock’s struggling backside. “For three years, you let me believe you were dead.”

“Yes, I know. But it was necessary. Everyone had to believe I was dead. We could never have completed the project otherwise.”

“And what project was that?” John didn’t pause the in steady rain of smacks.

“I was working for the British government to develop a class of super-soldiers. Call Mycroft if you need confirmation. Project Kahn.”

These were saucy!

Mmmmmmm. Project Khan! (I think you have a typo in the last sentence. Khan is Star Trek. Kahn is Young Frankenstein...)
