Title: Memories
Author:  czarina_kitty

He views his past not as single frames and individual images, but as time-lapsed exposures that were once of minutes or hours or days, but now of years and decades and centuries.  Millennia.

He remembers the faces of those he has loved not as individuals, but as composites, a blending of genders and species and types.  There have been too many to remember specifics.

He will never tell a partner, but will let them each believe that he will remember them because they are unique and special and loved.  In the end, they are just too fragile to understand forever.

Ouch. Very nicely done. I do find it hard to get to grips with the idea of living forever. :-(

Thank you. I seem to be fixated on the living forever thing right now.

I like the imagery of this. Very telling in so few words.

Ouch! But probably true. Forever is a long, long time.

The Doctor may have a long life-span, but he won't live forever.
