After dismissing Spock and telling Kirk of the decision regarding his command, Pike crossed back behind his desk and sank down in the chair before continuing.
“Starfleet may have dealt with your violation of the prime directive and your lying in an official report, but you were reckless and arrogant, and you lied to me, which I intend to deal with.”
“Admiral?” Kirk asked with a raised eyebrow.
Pike pushed his chair back and motioned Kirk to his side. “I think you need to learn a little humility. Now, son,” Pike’s voice filled with steel. “Drop ‘em and bend over.”

“What is it?”
“You lied in your report.”
“No, I left information out of my report.”
“A lie by omission is still a lie, Captain.”
“Fine. I lied in my report. Are you happy?”
“I don’t see how your admission is relevant to my emotional state.”
“Did you have a point?”
“Yes. You lied on an official report. Which is a violation of orders and should be punished.”
“And you intend to punish me?”
“I do indeed, Captain,” Spock replied pulling a paddle from a hidden compartment.
