Drabble: Mandelbrot Set

Title: Mandelbrot Set
Author:  czarina_kitty
Characters: Tosh, Jack
Challenge: tw100 # 164 – Jonathan Coulton titles
Rating:  teen
Notes: I do not own, or make any money from the use of, these characters.
I considered the title: M-theory!  Now with fractals!

Tosh is brilliant.  She knows that the Cardiff rift links multiple points in time and space and can prove that travel in all four dimensions is possible.  Once cracks in the walls of the universe appear and reveal the existence of parallel universes, Tosh understands that there are more than four dimensions in the multi-verse.  Jack thinks he probably should have explained a few things to her then, before she found a way to travel between them.  He should have explained some universes have fractional dimensions and that one can get lost forever, reliving events on an ever decreasing scale.

Tosh is so damn brilliant and I love how even Jack might have underestimated her, even though he knows better.

Oh, that's a scary notion!

Tosh is so brilliant, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't go ahead with something before she fully understood the implications.

I find smart people often have little common sense.

almost scary to think of Tosh getting stuck, but I'm sure she'd figure her way out

Oh, very cool. Jack hired Tosh because he recognized her brilliance, but (based on s1 especially) I can see him possibly neglecting the responsibilities that come with working with that kind of brilliance.

Eventually, sure.

Unsupervised geniuses can be scary.
